If it was not totally submerged ,however; your chances of restoring it are quite good. Engines hate water as is causes corrosion and fills piston chambers with water making the engine inoperable. most of the times when this happens the insurance company will total the car as it is most likely not worth fixing. Make sure you have a good insurance policy in case you ever lose a vehicle to complete submersion. People that live in Tsunami, Hurricane, or coast line areas should have complete coverage on their vehicles as they are at the most risk for water damage to happen to their vehicles.
Another thing to be very careful of to avoid vehicle water damage repair, is don’t drive over large puddles. What we man by this is don’t drive through the 3 foot puddle in the middle of an intersection due to heavy rain. By doing this you are putting your engine at risk and can easily mess up your vehicle.
